His speech therapist Carrie has been coming weekly to our home. Gavin loves this lady. He anxiously waits by the door windows to wait for her arrival. They play choo choo's together, read books, blow bubbles, jump on the trampoline, swing and even slide down the slide together.
I have felt that through working with her I have been better equipped in my approach with helping Gavin and getting him to express himself.
We've taken the summer off because of our travels out west and just had another session yesterday with Carrie. He made such great progress this summer not only with his words and multiple word utterances but in his vocal tone and clarity as well. He is doing so great and made such progress that they are dismissing him from therapy!
It really is wonderful to listen to him communicate and use his words. He has come so far from those 10 months ago where he only said one word. We couldn't be more grateful for the many prayers said in his behalf and the progress he has made.
