Virginia Safari Park

Over the four years that we've been here we have seen and done a lot of really neat things.  But hands down this has got to be one of the funnest things we've done.  A little more then an hour away from us is the Virginia Safari Park.  So over spring break on our way to spend a few days in Charlotte the kids and I made a little stop and did this.  It was crazy fun.  We bought four buckets of food and spent a good hour driving around with animals clamoring to get their heads into our car for food.  There were screams, giggles and squeals of delight the entire time.  And amazingly, we only had one bucket taken from us.  I was doing the driving, had Gavin on my lap, helping him not get his bucket stolen and trying to take some pictures and video all at the same time.  (Well maybe not ALL exactly at the same time but you get the idea.)

This is a video of a crazy camel that came in through the girls window and was literally almost over to my seat.  The camels were the only animals behind the fences.

This was the big guy that came and stole the bucket from me and Gavin
I think my favorite was the Zebras.
Seriously, that is a zebra with his head IN my car.
After driving around the park we got out and did the zoo portion.  We were excited to feed the birds but it was a cold day and the birds were all huddled up together in their building and not flying around.

We walked in with the Kangaroos and even though I didn't get a picture of the real kangaroo's, we all thought it was really cool to be as close as we were to them.
There was giraffe feeding...

Lets just get a closer look at that tongue...

This was an African Crowned Crane...the kids loved it and were so excited to point it out to me.
The Safari Park was definitely the highlight of our entire spring break.
