Easter was great this year. Our Easter baskets get delivered Friday night in order to be found Saturday morning. I really like doing it this way as Sunday gets to be about the real meaning of Easter and not about what people get in their baskets. For the last several years we've woken up to a maze of string around the entire house; upstairs and downstairs. Everyone has their own color that starts at their bed and they have to work their way to end where the basket is waiting for them. It always takes a good 30 minutes for everyone to finish.
On Easter morning we were invited over to our Bishops house to join them in a sunrise service. We hiked the mountain by their home and a wonderful devotional where we talked and sang hymns about the Savior and the sacred events that led up to and culminated in the resurrection. We ended with a few testimonies and then headed back down to their home for breakfast. It was a very early morning, but a wonderful thing to do with them and we were grateful that we were invited.
I had to take pictures of this fallen tree from our summer Duracho storm. I had meant to capture the power that storm brought with it this past summer where there were downed trees everywhere and we lost power for a week, but never actually did it.
You can see Gavin starting his run back down the mountain, and Sister Schill were the first ones back to the house.
After church on Sunday we went over to the Evans with the Harris and Johnson family. We love these families and are so grateful that they truly are our family here in Virginia. As the moms were planning the dinner and what we wanted to do we realized that none of us had had time to decorate eggs during the week so we opted on doing that together after dinner. Rich Evans taught us the art of blowing out the yolk.

Rich and Liam had a egg blowing contest...Liam won.
Are lives are enriched and blessed because of our friendships with these great families. We'll love them forever.
