These last few months in Virginia seem to be a whirl wind of squeezing as much as we possible can in before we move. At the top of that list was a trip up upstate New York to see Niagara Falls and Palmyra. The first weekend of May happened to be volleyball and soccer free for the girls so we seized the opportunity and went. We left early one Saturday morning and drove to Niagara Falls.
The website said that the Maid of the Mist was still closed because of the extremely cold winter, so we were SO happy to find out that it had opened just the day before!
Oh my goodness what it so much fun! I don't think any of us anticipated how wet we would get or how we would squeal with delight of the experience.
I think these next several pictures capture perfectly the fun we had!
When it came time to some serious mist Grayson started crying because he was scared. We were not expecting that to happen either. He liked it again when he wasn't getting wet but he still talks about the "scary waterfall."
Our major planning mistake on this day was not thinking to bring our passports! It would have been so fun for the kids to walk across the bridge to Canada.
After Niagara Bret quickly looked on trip advisor to see what else there was to do in the area and we found great naval base that you could tour three different Navy ships. The girls were good sports and the boys were enthralled! Grayson kept saying over and over, "This is so exciting. This is so awesome!"
They better get used to tight sleeping quarters....it'll pretty much be like this for the next seven months while our house is being built! I wish I could figure out something exactly like this to put in their room because it would even take up way less space then the bunk beds and toddler bed we'll be putting in one room.
